I Haven’t Done Anything yet Either

The halls echo softly with children’s cries

Mom lies in her locked hole getting high

Garbage strewn beneath the children’s feet

Refrigerator unplugged with nothing to eat

Bulging bellies in America hard to believe

And there’s no one around to care or to grieve

Fly’s in the kid’s eyes are having a feast

Even the roaches deserted with no crumbs to eat

A Blank Life

Meth Pipe

Tempted by an old addiction
A friend went over the top
Falling into his old routine
Now he’s unable to stop

Triggering deep seated issues
Feelings from so long ago
Getting high rather than crying
Going with the flow

What caused this aberration?
Bringing back the black hole
Stampeding over emotions
Smoke floating over the bowl

The blank in life surrounding
Only memories from the past
Keep coming to the forefront
Torturing tears of the harassed

Gutter Pizza

Worm-Vomit_thumb.jpg

Gutter pizza steams
Round worms seek shelter
Pigeons flock to scene

Broken zipper streams
Boil weeping smelter
Gutter pizza steams

Lacerations scream
Doubling up, welter
Pigeons flee the scene

Conscience fades to dreams
Nightmare now alters
Gutter pizza steams
Pigeons flock to scene

I remem….

My memories rushing out with the tide
Tears well up bubbling goodbye and cry
Body’s braking and hair is gray
You can feel good times slipping away

The older have lapsed and now devoid
Scattered away with the broken toys
More are slipping and times we enjoyed
The only slap left is being unemployed

It’s a Dream

Tossing and turning sheets twisting around
Lashed to a pallet bobbing up bobbing down
Bed clothes and pillows cold soaking wet
Salt watered tearing eyes burning with sweat

Thunder then lightening jump with a start
Bullets and tracers you grab at your heart
You open your mouth in a silent scream
Crumpling to the floor realizing it’s a dream

Tossing and turning sheets torn asunder
Lashed to a pallet you begin to wonder
You open your mouth in a silent scream
Crumpling to the floor realizing it’s a dream
A dream

Temptation on the Trail

Over the edge hanging by four fingers

The pit of my being said let’s not linger

Adrenaline strength, but one finger was slipping

Salt in my eyes from the sweat that was dripping

Falling in slow motion my hand is grabbed tight

My feet start to slide as I fight for my life

Going down hard, rock’s cut open my knees

Then I stopped my slide when I grabbed a tree

He pulled me forward and I fell face down

Clutching the weeds, I was praising the ground

I thanked the stranger that saved me from dying

My tears mixed with sweat as I started crying

I finally get up and look down the dirt road

Thinking I’ll never stray and do as I’m told

No matter how tempting the sights may be

I’ll look down at my leg and the scar on my knee

Watt’s the Matter Baltimore*

No way should we play about the way of the street
Look in their eyes find the spy with blood on their feet
We must turn on a dime so we can escape their heat
To get away from those who scare so we can retreat
