Stress Head

Deadly stress pulls up ancient ache
Memories brought to forefront quakes
Time has gone by for my own sake
I pray to God my soul to wake

    • Is laughter appropriate? I’m dying over here…. Hoping my laughter didn’t offend, but I surely am relieved of any stress I felt when I wrote it. Thanks!!!!

I agree with Kim above but at the same time pray to God for souls to wake for asking mercy from Nature

  8. That first line stuns me. Such truth that our stress (and grief) is aided by all the past stresses that have imprinted on us. Wonderful poignant poem.

  9. Michael,
An extremely powerful piece of writing, with such strong expression.
Release of the tension of stress, is most important, either in humans, or within a force of nature.
    Well written words.

  11. Both the poem and the photograph are extraordinary for their depiction of stress. I’m actually gritting my teeth, though I can see where some folks found it funny. I find it intense. Well done. Very well done. You get better all the time.

  15. If only we could leave the past behind–where it belongs. Not for it to keep popping up here in the present and bothering us.

A lot of feelings and emotion in this short poem, Michael.

    • I wish I knew the answer that, because I’d be the best selling author. I try hard to live in the present and do well; then a stressor comes in and drags up something similar and off to the races.. So I’m working on that with my therapist and taking my meds, which, BTW are recommended by Mr. Warthog and Mrs. Giraffe. smiles..

      • It’s hard to live in the present moment I know but well worth trying. Also, if Mr. Warthog and Mrs. Giraffe recommend taking your meds then by all means follow their advice. xoxo
