Just Two?

“Just two Pollux, will that be enough?” “Yes yes Castor, by the time we come back there will be 7 billion lives on this planet.”  “And they’ll all be in our image Castor…  Can you imagine?”  “If you say so; I’ve found a lovely garden they can begin their lives.  What about communicating with them Pollux the time we are away… won’t they be lost?”  “No Castor we’ve left enough imagination in their minds that they’ll find a way to talk to whomever and whenever they desire.”  They both smiled silently.

Slippery Slope , Post 500

Balancing between here and there
Dark or darker full of despair
Conspiracies headlong abound
You’re full of tales, which surround

Now in a fog every day
A constant hum, won’t go away
Fatigue and hunger here to stay
Potter won’t even throw the clay

Betwixt or between, choice to make
Feeling the prick, maybe forsake
Emotional climax or void
Either way I’m sure you’ll avoid

What is Bipolar II?

Bipolar II disorder (pronounced “bipolar two”) is a form of mental illness. Bipolar II is similar to bipolar I disorder, with moods cycling between high and low over time.

However, in bipolar II disorder, the “up” moods never reach full-on mania. The less-intense elevated moods in bipolar II disorder are called hypomanic episodes, or hypomania.

A person affected by bipolar II disorder has had at least one hypomanic episode in life. Most people with bipolar II disorder also suffer from episodes of depression. This is where the term “manic depression” comes from.

In between episodes of hypomania and depression, many people with bipolar II disorder live normal lives.

“Art is fundamental to health and to humanity.” - Rocco Landsman, NEA chairman

The US Military will begin  a new pilot program this month to better serve their healing soldiers at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, on the campus of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The Center has joined forces with the National Endowment for the Arts to offer soldiers with "signature wounds" a writing therapy called 'Operation Homecoming.'

Stoop

The stoop was starting to feel lonely waiting. We were both called in for supper at the same time. It was her sister’s turn to do the dishes. Did she forget our date?

Mushroom Moment

A double sensation of overwhelming calm
ESP kicks in and my senses explode
All my sensory inputs overflowed
Waves of relaxation, the warmth of a balm

The voices of elders singing a psalm
Relaxation brings a mindfulness grand
Allowing counting the grains of the sand
That’s cooling my feet from the warmth of the sun

Bolting ecstasy, I get up and I run
Electricity rolls off me in the wind
Someone gives me spun sugar and grins
Reminds me of insulation and that’s no fun

I throw it in the air because I’m done
Moving to the cabin that’s cool and dark
Spiritual sensation, an inner spark
One in the spirit I can’t possibly outrun

A connection with God that’s nothing to shun

Consequences of Dreams

Dreaming in the past, times of before
In new situations, so it’s not a bore
Remember people better, especially her
Bringing up regret of things, that never were

Dreaming in the past, stirring up the dust
Hoping to return and sand away rust
But my conscious thoughts, come through intruding
Trying to pull me, into feelings brooding

Oh but if the dreams were real and played out
Driving down the new road, on a smooth route
Waving at the present, with a new delight
But know deep down inside, that it’d just be a fright

Accepting Fault

Running out of conversation
Same old story, same old sad wife
Time to consider castration
Or to find a new way of life

Folded up all the tents wandering
From love that once was around us
Running to and from blundering
Too bad about nothing discussed
